Gallery Assistant / Art Interns
Guerrilla Zoo are curating a large exhibition of surreal and provocative work from 60 international artists for 10 days in October 2017 and looking for volunteers to be involved in the running of the show....
We require friendly, enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to assist the installation of the exhibition and the private view and invigilate on various occasions during the show.
This will involve welcoming visitors to the exhibition, being able to talk to them about the work, being a link between artists and buyers and ensuring the security of the artworks.
Roles available include:
* Setting up and installing sculptures, installations and wall art, preparing the space for the show. Also the take down.
* Day to day invigilation to look after the art and the smooth running of the exhibition.
* Assisting in the gallery pop up shop / selling work.
* Stage management & assisting at the live exhibition events.
Essential Requirements :
Gallery assistants need to be able to time manage. Have a passion for art, reliable, trustworthy and dedicated. Good communication skills. A flexible and self-motivated approach to work. Attention to detail and a willingness to follow instructions and operate on own initiative. Arts degree or background with knowledge of contemporary art preferred but not essential. Dates required :
Installation will be on Wednesday 11th and Thurs 12th October (9am - late)
Private view event on 12th October (7pm - 11pm)
Open to public 13th - 22th October (11am - 7pm)
Take down 22nd October (7pm +) and 23rd Oct (10am - 5pm)
Various shifts will be available (8 hour day with breaks) during the exhibition.
